The Proteomics Core at Sloan Kettering Institute (SKI) is seeking to hire an expert in mass spectrometry-based proteomics. We aim to recruit a dynamic, innovative and motivated Senior Research Assistant to provide state-of-the-art proteomic expertise to support projects across the different programs of SKI. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing proteomic experiments as well as for developing LC-MS based proteomics methods. Approaches include, but are not limited to, proteomics, phosphoproteomics, interaction proteomics, targeted proteomics and chemoproteomics. Close collaboration with scientists to design experiments is required.The Senior Research Assistant will join a state-of-the-art laboratory with comprehensive expertise in mass spectrometry-based proteomics. This position requires bioanalytical expertise, a solid background in proteomics, data analysis and protein biochemistry and knowledge of high resolution mass spectrometry instruments (i.e. Q Exactive, Lumos, Eclipse) and nano HPLC systems. We are currently looking for two highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to join  the liquid biopsy and cancer genomics programs (led by Dr Pedram Razavi) within the MSK Biomarker Development Program (BDP).  The MSK BDP is a dedicated program focused on development and utilization of tumor tissue and circulating biomarkers to enable precision oncology and inform therapeutic decisions. Research in the Razavi group focuses on integration of large-scale tissue and circulating genomics with clinicopathologic data to study tumor evolution under therapeutic pressure in breast cancer, discover novel biomarkers of response or resistance to therapies in breast cancer and develop tools for early detection  and prediction of outcomes in breast cancer.  Fellows will join a multidisciplinary group of bioinformaticians, translational medical oncologists, molecular biologists, pathologists and clinical researchers focusing on two main studies: 1)  analysis of the largest effort to date in breast cancer focusing on comprehensive genomic profiling of paired pre- and post-treatment tumor tissue to decipher the mechanisms of resistance to adjuvant therapies in breast cancer and develop prediction models of outcomes in breast cancer; and 2) development of  novel approaches for the analysis of cell free DNA (cfDNA) to assess cfDNA utility in a wide array of practical clinical applications such tumor genomic profiling, monitoring disease evolution and heterogeneity, discovery of novel mechanisms of therapy resistance, detection of minimal residual and micrometastatic disease, and early- detection of disease. Fellows will apply analytic methods on a combination of newly generated and big data to address high clinical impact questions to advance the ability to treat cancer patients. There will be several opportunities for co-mentorship by collaborators across departments and services at MSK. The Tow Center for Developmental Oncology (TCDO) and the Program in Computational Oncologyare seeking an outstanding computational data scientist interested in developing and applying bioinformatic/quantitative methods to problems in translational cancer biology. Applicants should have a proven background in both bioinformatics and biology and demonstrated ability to lead and assist in innovative computer science. This role represents an outstanding opportunity to join the cancer research program at MSKCC, while being embedded with a team of computational biologists and software engineers in a creative and supportive academic environment. The successful applicant will closely work with scientists with basic, translational and clinical research interests, and will have access to the unique and growing patient and laboratory data available at MSKCC. The computational data scientist will support the TCDO mission of developing fundamental insights into the molecular mechanisms of cancers in children and young adults, to ultimately devising new approaches for definitive therapy and control. A successful candidate would use state-of-the-art methods to analyze large-scale data in genomics, proteomics, single-cell analysis, and spatial imaging in a groundbreaking integrative research approach that will guide discovery of novel oncogenic pathways and targets in childhood and young-adult cancers. The van den Brink lab is looking for a highly motivated post-doc to work on a project involving novel T cell immunotherapies for multiple myeloma. Our lab focuses on a variety of research topics related to cancer immunotherapy, including hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, graft-versus-host disease, effects of the microbiota on transplant outcomes, immune reconstitution/thymic rejuvenation strategies, and CAR T cell therapy for various malignancies. The CAR T cell group of the van den Brink lab designs novel CAR T cells targeting hematologic malignancies with the goal of improving T cell activity while reducing toxicities. We study CAR T cell activity in syngeneic mouse models and are currently developing xenograft mouse models. The laboratory of Jonathan Peled is seeking a highly motivated and successful individual with a background in microbiology/microbiome, immunology, and/or prior experience or interest in computational/bioinformatics approaches. The lab focuses on investigating how the gut microbiome interacts with the host immune system in the context of cancer immunotherapy and allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. This includes investigations in mouse models, with cultivated commensal organisms, and human biospecimens. As well, we have a focus on pre-clinical investigation of novel therapeutic approaches that have potential for translation into the clinic. Our group is highly collaborative, both within MSK and outside.
