A postdoctoral position is currently available in our laboratory open to highly motivated candidates with a background in molecular biology, genetics, cancer biology and/or transcriptional regulation. The primary interest of our group is in understanding the central drivers of soft tissue tumor initiation. We are currently focusing on the role of Wnt/β-catenin signaling in the pathogenesis of desmoid-type fibromatosis using in vitro and in vivo models of the disease. Projects will include basic and translational studies focused on transcriptome analysis, signaling transduction, and next-generation sequencing as well as murine studies. Faculty Position Sarcoma Medical Oncology Service Division of Solid Tumor Oncology, Department of MedicineMemorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is one of the world’s premier cancer centers, committed to exceptional patient care, leading-edge research, and superb educational programs. The blending of research with patient care is at the heart of everything we do. The institution is a comprehensive cancer center whose purposes are the treatment and control of cancer, the advancement of biomedical knowledge through laboratory and clinical research, and the training of scientists, physicians and other health care workers.  The largest of MSK’s clinical departments, the Department of Medicine (DoM) encompasses experts in solid tumor oncology, hematologic malignancies, subspecialty medicine and supportive and acute care services.  Offering a range of services both in multiple sites in New York City and at their suburban outpatient locations in our Regional Care Network (RCN), DoM physicians oversee the care of the whole patient. The RCN serves the areas surrounding Manhattan and extends from Southern New Jersey to Eastern Long Island and brings the same high level of expertise, clinical care, and access to clinical trial protocols that are available at our main campus in New York City. The Sarcoma Medical Oncology Service in the Division of Solid Tumor Oncology is seeking a full-time Clinical Investigator at the Assistant Attending level or higher, focused on the care of patients, education and research at our New York City and Long Island sites. The Sarcoma Medical Oncology Service consists of highly accomplished and compassionate experts from different areas who specialize in treating all types of soft tissue and bone sarcomas. Our Disease Management Team meets regularly and consists of world renowned surgeons, medical oncologists, pediatricians, radiation oncologists, pathologist, radiologists, scientists, and vastly trained nurses and nurse practitioners. Clinical research and drug development is a crucial component of our service, as we work heavily with a variety of pharmaceutical companies to offer clinical trials to our patients and have one of the largest sarcoma clinical trial portfolios in the country. This position should be filled with a highly motivated, dedicated, collaborative, and experienced physician with a background in treating solid tumors, particularly sarcoma, and an interest in drug development. Requirements for this position consists of conducting two full days of outpatient clinic per week. One day at our New York City site and a potential 2nd day at one of our Long Island sites. We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Research Technician or Research Assistant in the lab of Dr. Christine Mayr at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center/Sloan Kettering Institute in New York City. The Mayr lab studies how mRNAs, and specifically 3′UTRs, control protein functions. Our lab is collaborative, friendly, and our members come from diverse research backgrounds. Our approach is multidisciplinary and includes methodology and techniques from RNA and chemical biology, biochemistry, genome engineering, molecular biophysics, and computation. We currently study how RNA in membraneless organelles changes the conformation of disordered proteins to control assembly of protein complexes which in turn regulate protein functions. One of our goals is to use RNA to control protein function.
