We facilitate ongoing compliance with applicable institutional and regulatory requirements for the safe and effective application of radiation in patient care, research, and education.You will collaborate with researchers, Medical Physicists, Physicians, Radiologists, Nurses, and the entire cancer care and research institution as you embark on a career in Health Physics!You Will:- Implement various aspects of the radiation protection program in a cancer care and research environment.- Assist in educating staff and workers on radiation safety procedures.- Assist in surveying radiation areas and evaluating radiation levels.- Perform radiation surveys in research and clinical laboratories using radiation and radioactive materials, under general supervision.- Measure radiation exposure levels on patients receiving radioactive material for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.- Calculate results and specify radiation precaution parameters for medical staff and patient's families.- Counsel patients and families on radiation precautions, according to departmental guidelines.- Implement the dosimetry monitoring program.
