We are: The Molecular Diagnostics Service develops and performs numerous sophisticated clinical laboratory tests for the comprehensive molecular profiling of tumors. This helps clinicians define cancer diagnoses and make treatment decisions, including enrollment in clinical trials. The Extraction laboratory, within the Molecular Diagnostics Service, is a cutting-edge clinical laboratory with access to the most advanced robotic and automated instruments. Extraction is the foundation for downstream testing, including two of our premier tests: MSK-IMPACT and MSK-ACCESS. MSK-IMPACT has been authorized by the US Food & Drug Administration as a clinical test and has been used to profile tumor and normal DNA samples from more than 40,000 MSK cases as part of their clinical care. “Liquid biopsy” applications such as MSK-ACCESS examine circulating cell-free DNA to enable genomic characterization of cancers where genomic tissue is not available and permits longitudinal monitoring of disease burden. We are seeking an outstanding technologist to join our Extraction team. The candidate will work with all other teams within the Molecular Service including Fragment Analysis and NGS teams to ensure accurate and high-quality downstream testing. The Tow Center for Developmental Oncology at MSKCC is seeking a highly motivated scientist with experience in proteomics and biochemistry. This Senior Research Assistant will be part of the Proteomics Initiative, dedicated to the development of superior models of childhood cancers and mechanism-based translational science, with the aim to enable improved therapies for patients. As experienced laboratory scientist, you will lead studies in immuno-proteo-genomic profiling effort around childhood and young adult sarcomas. The project will build on comprehensive genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics with the goal of identifying carcinogenic and immunologic/physiologic mechanisms as well as new therapeutic targets. You will have a central role in the analysis of tumor samples using advanced analytical techniques, including mass spectrometry proteomics and single-cell protein and nucleic acid profiling. You will establish SOPs, develop analytical methods, optimize experimental protocols, and propose new approaches. You will be part of a collaborative effort in an ambitious project and are therefore expected to be organized, flexible, and an excellent team player. The Precision Pathology Biobanking Center (PPBC) is a newly established research center at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. A central pillar of the Center is the collection, database annotation, and banking of human biospecimens. Our team of professionals procures surgical and biopsy research samples from over 8,000 patients per year. Our samples are a key prerequisite for high-impact cutting-edge basic, translational, and clinical trial research at MSK. The PPBC Histology Core Laboratory provides research histology support for a range of MSK investigators.
