We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join the research team of Dr. Ivan Maillard and Dr. Oriana Miltiadous in investigating key determinants of hematopoietic transplantation and vaccination outcomes. Dr. Maillard’s lab focuses on the role of Notch signaling in hematopoiesis, T/B cell biology, and cancer therapy, while Dr. Miltiadous’ research explores the interplay between the microbiome, hematopoiesis, and immune cell function.

Role Overview:

As a Research Technician, you will be an essential part of our research team, working hands-on with a variety of laboratory techniques and equipment. Your contributions will help accelerate discoveries that improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities include:

• Laboratory Support: Prepare and maintain lab equipment, instruments, solutions, stains, assays, and other essential supplies.
• Techniques & Assays: Perform specialized techniques, such as cell culture, cell separation, flow cytometry, DNA extraction, amplification etc.
• Animal Handling: Conduct animal studies, including hematopoietic transplantation, injections, tissue/fluids collection, and animal autopsies.
• Data Management: Record and analyze research data, prepare reports, and provide insights to the research team.
• Collaboration: Assist peers and researchers with ongoing projects, fostering a team-oriented, supportive environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Proven basic laboratory skills and the ability to handle diverse tasks in a research setting.

Core Skills:

• Experience with animal handling, ideally in hematopoiesis and transplantation
• Outstanding communication and self-awareness.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving to optimize efficiency.
• Adaptability and resilience to lead change and innovation.
• Collaboration and building trusting relationships.
• Over 2-year experience with flow cytometry will be a plus.

Additional Information:

• Location: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NYC
• Schedule: 37.5 hours per week (onsite)

Pay Range: $26.21 - $39.24
