Job Description

Clinical Nurse – Operating Room (Main Campus & Josie Robertson Surgery Center)

 

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Join our team as a Clinical Nurse at our Main Campus or Josie Robertson Surgery Center. We're looking for a dynamic nursing professional eager to showcase compassionate, evidence-based nursing care skills and make a meaningful impact in our Operating Room.

 

Role Overview:

  • Provide primary nursing care in the Main Campus Operating Room or Josie Robertson Surgery Center as needed (Ambulatory Surgery).
  • Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are sterile and ready.
  • Maintain a sterile environment to prevent infections.
  • Ensure that the surgical team adheres to aseptic techniques.
  • Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during the procedure.
  • Monitor the patient’s vital signs and communicate any changes to the surgical team.
  • Act as the patient’s advocate, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the procedure.
  • Accurately document the surgical procedure, including the instruments used, the patient's condition, and any occurrences during surgery.

 Key Qualifications:

  • NYS RN license & registration; CNOR certification highly preferred
  • BSN preferred; ASN
  • Minimum of 1 year of operating room RN experience in an acute care setting required

 Pay Range: $119,000-$154,450.00.

Additional Information:

  • Location: MSK’s Main Campus, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY 10021

    MSK’s Josie Robertson Surgery Center, 1133 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065

  • Schedule: 10/hr OR 12/hr Shift; Flexed between 7am and 12:00am with week rotation    required
