Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are seeking an Assistant Editor/Grant Writer to join the Department of Medical Physics. This position will provide support for pre- and post-award research efforts, including coordination, editing, production, and tracking of grant and publishing documents. Reporting directly to the Senior Editor/Grant Writer, the Assistant Editor/Grant Writer will help manage editorial projects, assist with research coordination, and maintain document archives related to academic projects. The department has successfully secured $25M in grant funding, including $9M in indirect costs since August 2021.
Role Overview:
• Editing: Copyedit and proofread manuscripts, grant reports, department reports, and visual presentations.
• Coordination: Assist with grant preparation, including research, correspondence, and maintaining document archives.
• Data Tracking: Use spreadsheets and databases to track academic research and publishing projects.
• Presentation: Assist with visual presentations and construction/maintenance of database tracking systems.
• Project Management: Support federal and foundation grant proposals, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
Key Qualifications:
• At least 1-2 years of experience in grants administration, copyediting, proofreading, project management, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with federal grant components, with experience in submitting federal grants preferred.
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to handle complex information.
• Proficiency in Office 365 and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of Access, EndNote, Acrobat, and Visio is useful.
• Interest or familiarity with biomedical research is a plus.

• Detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
• Ability to work in a flexible and resourceful manner, adjusting to shifting workload demands.
• Experience in grants, academic writing, or related administrative work.
• Proficient in data management, editing, and project coordination.
