Infrastructure Engineer II

 

Exciting Opportunity at MSK

The Wireless Infrastructure Engineer II position will be someone who understands the critical value of preparing data to provide for next-generation analytics. The individual will support the work of ‘Wireless Infrastructure’ team by managing the full development life cycle of complex projects requiring integration to other systems including analysis, design, programming, implementation, support, and will reduce the time-to-insight for healthcare professionals, researchers, and the advanced analytics teams providing innovative, best-in-class solutions.

 

Role Overview:

  • Provide advanced-level network design work, implementation, documentation, and troubleshooting with particular focus on wireless network access connectivity for medical equipment end-point devices.
  • Provide network services support at an advanced level to Biomedical & Radiological engineers by providing Wi-Fi connections for critical medical equipment to the company network.
  • Provide design and product recommendations and configurations.
  • Resolve network problems through research, network installation and customization, network administration and network management support.
  • Require mastery-level skills and experience in the use of a spectrum monitor to facilitate the identification and removal of illegal or unlicensed interference signals while monitoring the spectrum on a continual basis so problem signals can be identified as they occur in real time.
  • Fine-tune existing wireless networks by adjusting RF settings, Client Matching, band steering and adjusting/changing areas of the network to provide optimal wireless solutions for many critical aspects in a medical & research institution.
  • Performs network and hardware and software maintenance including but not limited to code upgrades and security patches.
  • Interfaces with vendors, auditors, and Information Security teams to ensure security is maintained and integrated into all network connectivity activities.
  • Produces and interprets network security analysis reports, accurately maintains security design documentation and information.

Key Qualifications:

  • Engineers should be aware of the latest products, services, IEEE standards, protocols, and developments of the networking industry. Serves as an escalation point for wireless network issues & outages within IT.
  • Require experience in Wireless Lan Controller configurations, troubleshooting and LAN/WAN networking reported problems.
  • Wireless network engineers design, implement, and optimize a company's wireless LAN and other wireless technologies such as cellular, Wi-Fi-6 & 6E, Telemetry, RFID and infrared.
  • Acts as subject matter expert on wireless network design and configuration. 
  • 4-7 Years of relevant wireless infrastructure experience.

  • Location: 633 Third Ave. NYC
  • Reporting to Associate Director, Infrastructure
  • Schedule: Hybrid 2-3 days a week on site.

Salary range: $130,700.00-$215,800.00
