Job Description

Exciting opportunity at MSK: Join our team as a Scientific Research Manager, Tabar Lab! We’re looking for a dynamic research professional to oversee the conceptualization, development, implementation and conduct of experiments for scientific research projects. The Scientific Manager will coordinate scientific operations, manage end-to-end grant proposal activities including writing and organization, and intramural and extramural communications.

 

Role Overview:

  • Responsible for driving research projects and optimizing experimental methodologies. This includes conduct and analysis of experiments.
  • Work with the Neurosurgery Chair, Assistant Lab Member, and department administration to conceptualize new research activities of Research Program. This includes preparation and writing of individual and collaborative laboratory research proposals, such as NIH R01, R21, Special Research Agreements and Foundation grants.
  • Act as focal person for team communications and assume responsibility along with PI for meeting project expectations.
  • Oversee the implementation of collaborative extramural and intramural projects.
  • Communicate among project participants and funders, organization of milestones, and preparation of project reports and manuscripts.

Key Qualifications:

  • MD or PhD, preferably with 2-3 years of postdoctoral research experience and significant knowledge of neuroscience and stem cells.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving to ensure unforeseen issues are handled appropriately and resolved in a timely fashion.

  • Highly motivated, eager to advance biomedical research in a dynamic and fast-paced academic environment and interested in the academic success of others and program building.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact across all levels in a confident, professional manner.
  • An engaging leader with a strong team- building focus.

  • Reporting to the Chair, Department of Neurosurgery

Pay Range: $88,800 - $142,200.00
