The Molecular Cytogenetics Core Facility at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Scientist to provide scientific and technical support to the research community at MSKCC. The candidate must have the ability to work independently and be proficient in experimental design, data analysis and interpretation.
The position requires experience in karyotyping, tissue culture, DNA isolation, PCR,DNA labeling, and set up of FISH-based assays, operating commercial cytogenetics imaging systems and laboratory management (reagent preparation, ordering supplies, maintaining laboratory equipment, logbooks and databanks). The candidate will also assist in the operational management of the Core, contribute to scientific journals and grants and participate in scientific conferences/meetings.Molecular Cytogenetics Core Facility is seeking a highly motivated and successful individual

The ideal candidate should have:
● PhD in Biological Sciences, or equivalent, with emphasis on karyotyping and
genetics
● Minimum 3 years of practical experience in Cytogenetics and FISH
● Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice procedures
