    Job Description

    We are:

    The Department of Neurology offers a wide variety of services in order support Memorial’s mission of providing holistic care to patients suffering cancer and its associated effects and impairments.  Our faculty include Neuro-Oncologists providing care in the treatment of primary and metastatic brain cancers, Neurologists providing care for neurological complications such as seizures, Physiatrists specializing in cancer rehabilitation medicine, and Occupational and Physical Therapists that provide a wide variety of services including lymphedema treatment and management and cognitive therapy, neuromuscular training, pulmonary rehabilitation, and other techniques for improving quality of life. We also provide educational resources to patients and their families. 

     

    As our department continues to grow, we are looking to partner with a Manager, Hospital Operations who will work collaboratively with our Chair and Director to support strategic initiatives and manage the supportive administrative services and structures that allow us to deliver patient care.

     

    You will:

    • Direct the recruitment and training practices for new clerical and management employees, while ensuring ongoing training for existing employees, providing feedback to the as necessary.  Monitor daily activities of staff, ensuring job duties are being completed accurately and in compliance with department and Center standards.
    • Assist with special projects as needed, assume the duties of the when needed, serve as member of Department and ad hoc committees across the Center.
    • Lead the overall planning and operations of physician’s and physical and occupational therapist outpatient clinics including coordinating resources and staff to ensure efficient and quality patient care activity.
    • Communicate to ensure compliance, quality standards and improvement initiatives, safety standards and external legal regulations.
    • Evaluate overall staffing needs for clinical practices and academic offices to ensure appropriate coverage; recommend appropriate changes to staffing plans as needed in consideration of workload, patient volume and attending staff changes.
    • Take responsibility for billing compliance in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures, including participating in and promoting the prevention, detection and resolution of instances of noncompliance.
    • Manage department financial plans by working the department’s director and business manager in the development and implementation of the operating and capital equipment budgets including approving requests with financial impact (tuition reimbursement, overtime expenditure, temporary employee requests) for conformance to budgets, maintaining costs and variances.

    You have:

    • Bachelor's Degree; MBA or Master’s Public Health Administration is a plus.
    • 4 years directly related experience supporting a clinical practice, preferably in an academic medical center environment required.
    • 10 years directly related experience supporting a clinical practice, preferably in an academic medical center environment required in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
    • Supervisory experience required.
    • Analytical skills including basic statistics and cost benefit analysis perspectives to achieve common goals.
    • Capable of building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives and goals.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
    • Ability to handle acutely ill patients/outpatients in stressful situations.
