    Job Description

    Title:

    Manager, Nursing Support Services

     

    MAIN FUNCTION:

    Manage activities within the Department of Nursing Support Services to ensure efficient and effective operations, and the delivery of quality services to meet both inpatient and outpatient needs. Communicate effectively at all levels, to contribute, influence, and effect processes related to the movement of patients and specimens within the organization.

     

    Job Duties/Responsibilities:

    • STAFF MANAGEMENT: Directs and supervises activities of staff in assigned area. Hires, orients, trains, and evaluates the performance of staff. Provides guidance, feedback, and opportunities for development, as appropriate.
    • PLANNING/PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: Develops strategic plan and recommends, initiates, and approves operational changes using data.  
    • FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT: Establishes, controls, and manages budget
    • OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT: Oversees area of operations and utilize data to prioritizes workflow to meet the needs of the department and ensure efficient and financially sound operations
    • QUALITY IMPROVEMENT: Communicates and ensures compliance with quality standards and improvement initiatives.
    • EQUIPMENT/SUPPLY MANAGEMENT: Ensures availability of appropriate equipment and supplies
    • SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS: Participates and serves on organization-wide committees. Coordinates and integrates interdepartmental and intradepartmental services and communications.
    • INFORMATION MANAGEMENT: Completes all required documentation and produces necessary reports.
    • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Maintains professional growth and development by participating in workshops, seminars, and professional affiliations to stay abreast of regulatory compliance and industry trends

    KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

    Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred plus a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience

    Minimum Experience:  5 years
