    Job Description

    The Budget Associate role in Development requires a highly-detailed individual who will be responsible for the financial coordination and analyses of budgets, expenditures and related activities under the direction of the Development Financial Management teamThe Budget Associate will coordinate select financial functions and projects for the team to ensure timely, accurate and efficient financial reporting and budget preparation.  Some administrative and clerical tasks on behalf of the team may be required.



    You will:

    • Perform various detailed routine and ad hoc analyses.
    • Review, monitor, and update financial information for all cost centers within Development.
    • Input data and update spreadsheets and databases as required.
    • Follow-up and coordinate with division management, program heads and team leaders for specific analyses.
    • Assist with preparation of budget-related documents and in the routine analysis of budget variances.
    • Work with other MSK departments outside of Development as needed for information gathering or clarification.
    • Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed.


    You have:

    • Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration) with up to 2 years of experience.
    • Exceptional attention to detail along with excellent oral and written communication skills. 
    • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, along with strong interpersonal skills to be able to effectively participate in problem identification and resolution. 
    • Intermediate budget preparation and budget analysis skills allowing for the comprehensive management of division budgets, expenditures and related activities.
    • Computer skills including advanced knowledge of Excel and the use of spreadsheets.
    • Experience with and knowledge of reporting and general accounting principles.
