    Job Description

    The Compliance Department at MSK is seeking an Institutional Compliance Manager join their team. This manager will be involved in the Privacy program and internal investigation at MSK.


    The Institutional Compliance Manager will:

    • Manage the intake and review of reports made to the MSK hotline, ensuring followup on each report. Conduct internal investigations. 
    • Maintain expert knowledge in use of hotline reporting application; provide guidance to staff who use the system. Maintain relevant MSK Compliance policies on reporting concerns; at least every two years, prepare the policy for formal review by the Senior Vice President/Chief Risk Officer and the Joint Audit Committee of the Board. 
    • Actively participate in the Privacy program, interfacing with administrative, clinical and research staff throughout the institution to review and resolve privacy incidents; Act as a resource on privacy policies and, in coordination with Institutional Compliance Manager, Privacy, proactively identify and address privacy issues.
    • Work closely with the Institutional Compliance Manager, Controlled Substance Program, to respond, evaluate and mitigate instances of potential compromise of controlled substances; ensure compliance with regulatory and policy requirements for reporting incidents of loss or theft.
    • Actively collaborate with colleagues in MSK Office of General Counsel and Human Resources to ensure the timely and accurate resolution of internal investigations made through the centralized hotline reporting application.   Ensure followup to those who report concerns, through the hotline response process or other methods of communication.  
    • Produce standard and ad hoc reports and presentations on incidents, reports of non-compliance and investigations to monitor and identify trends. Maintain thorough and detailed records of all repots and their adjudication.  Periodically review trends with Compliance leadership and other MSK leadership.
    • Develop and maintain staff training on various topics; assure that the content is reviewed and updated at least annually and as needed. Implement annual staff awareness campaign on reporting concerns; Make use of institutional resources (the intranet; electronic posters; MSK Life and other institutional publications) to support routine staff reminders about reporting.


    The Institutional Compliance Manager needs:

    • Master’s Degree AND 7-10 years of compliance or regulatory area, research or hospital operations experience;
    • Candidates who possess a Juris Doctorate may be eligible for an Assistant General Counsel title. #LI-POST
