    Job Description

    Are you looking for an exciting and rewarding opportunity to expand upon your career in healthcare planning?

     

    We are seeking a Senior Space Planner to join the Facilities Planning Department at Memorial Sloan Kettering.

     

    As a department, we are responsible for supporting the Center’s mission by:

    • Identifying strategic space priorities
    • Managing pre-design/concept development and generating functional space programs
    • Identifying interdependencies among ongoing and planned facilities projects that determine the critical pathways to their successful completion
    • Tactical planning to recommend mission-appropriate allocations for program expansion, development or relocations that optimize operations and institutional space utilization
    • Leading and protecting MSK’s commercial real estate related business needs and interests.

    In this role, you will work with departmental leadership, administration and content experts to develop functional space programs and architectural test-fits for volume studies in support of long-term space plans and consistent with current space allocation standards. The Healthcare Planner will also develop options and decision-support materials for Center leadership’s prioritization of capital and space resources. You will remain engaged in approved projects to help ensure adherence to the project goals and to incorporate insights into future planning processes and deliverables.

     

    You will:

    • Apply the institutional space allocation standards
    • Ensure the development of operational plans for support of main campus and off-site facilities
    • Collaborate with Design+ Construction during the implementation phases to help achieve programmatic objectives within the project schedule and budget
    • Communicate all space allocation updates to keep the institutional space database current

    You are:

    • An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications and presentations based on that understanding
    • Effective at gaining the support and dedication of others by engaging them around your perspective and priorities
    • Adept at building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives and goals
    • Able to develop, analyze and draw conclusions from statistical data and architectural floor plans
    • Able to independently conduct qualitative and quantitative research, analysis and synthesis drawing data from relevant sources
    • Flexible in your approach and demeanor in order to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstances

     

    Does your background seem like a fit?

    You Need:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and 4-7 years of health-care experience preferred
    • Master’s Degree preferred
    • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Bonus/nice to have: experience with ARCHIBUS or other CAFM system
