    Job Description

    The Department of Radiology is seeking a Scheduler that will ensure that all patients are scheduled appropriately and efficiently for procedures, including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, Bone densitometry and Nuclear Medicine. He/she will provide general patient information, specific prep instructions and directions to procedure areas. The Scheduler will also resolve all related issues, directs calls, and confirms appointments.

    You Will:

    • Schedule all outpatient procedures according to patient needs and specified scheduling parameters. Must screen patients according to the guidelines and give pre-procedure instructions for blood work and instructions for fasting.
    • Answer the telephone using correct telephone techniques and procedures in an efficient manner and handle each inquiry in a competent and courteous way. Directs all calls appropriately and contacts the area when necessary.
    • Confirms all appointments starting 48 hours before the procedure and follows up with patients who have not been confirmed 24 hours before their procedure. E-mails modality with cancellations and patients who could not be confirmed. Maintains centralized database of confirmation calls.
    • Reschedule and cancel appointments as requested.
    • Registers new patients in RMS and informs them that they will receive a call from Registration prior to their procedure
    • Register outside MD’s who are not in the system by finding their NPI numbers, address and phone numbers either from the patient or by calling the doctor’s office. Add their information into RIS.
    • Maintain the necessary add-on spreadsheet.
    • Work as part of a team by cooperating with other Radiology staff members and all Center personnel. Participate in training, orientation and mentorship for new schedulers.
    • Follow downtime procedures by maintaining downtime materials.
    • Completes special projects as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
    • Work: 9:00AM-5:00PM, Monday - Friday

    You Have:

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or four years related work experience
    • Experience with computers, preferably with scheduling software
    • Familiarity with Medical Terminology #LI-POST
