    Job Description

    As an Analyst in the Physician Billing Department, Insurance you will be responsible for maintaining provider database and files while ensuring various insurance carriers have current and accurate provider information in order to facilitate the billing process for all active physicians of the Center.  This includes tax ID number, specialty/certification, etc. Acts as a liaison for the Insurance Area to the Office of the Registrar for providing and obtaining information critical to the successful and timely on boarding of new physicians to MSK. 


    You will: 

    • Communicate directly with physicians for request of information required for carrier enrollment or revalidation. 
    • Be responsible for maintaining files on documentation submitted to carriers (e.g. physician licenses and Board Certifications).
    • Work with the Clinical Information Center to obtain system identification numbers for new Physicians and Nurse Practitioners.
    • Respond to correspondence and inquiries received by carriers, physicians and/or other Physician Billing staff (e.g. Revalidation letter, provider/specialty discrepancies, etc.).


    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
    • Proficiency with database applications (Access) preferred
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Strong communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
    • Professional fee billing experience preferred
    • Bachelor's Degree required
