    As one of the world's elite cancer centers, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is committed to the dynamic control and cure of cancer through programs of patient care, research and education. As such, our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Department plays a vital role in supporting that mission through the implementation of programs that continuously aim to exceed and set industry standards as well as improve the safety culture. EHS is responsible for enterprise-wide environmental health and safety services, including Fire and Life Safety, Emergency Management, Construction Safety, Hazardous Material and Waste Management, Laboratory Safety, Occupational Safety, Healthcare Safety, Environmental Compliance and Ergonomics. MSK is seeking a tried leader who can be part of a dynamic and growing organization.

    We are seeking a Training and Exercise Coordinator, Emergency Management for our growing team.

    This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about healthcare as well as Emergency Management.

    As a Training and Exercise Coordinator, Emergency Management, you will:

    • Manage MSK's enterprise-wide training and exercise program to evaluate the organization's state of readiness and efficacy of emergency response plans and recovery procedures as well as support emergency planning and response operations.
    • The training and exercise program will be guided by the Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA) and Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA) processes and support MSK's leadership priorities for emergency preparedness and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards for emergency planning, and training and exercise requirements.
    • Conduct training and exercises on emergency preparedness.
    • Conduct hospital incident management training for hospital leadership and site administration staff.
    • Maintain all organizational exercise and training records.
    • Serve on the MSK Hospital Incident Management Team Command Center.
    • Research and mitigate any training gaps identified through After-Action Reports (AARs), exercises, incidents, or meetings.
    • Collaborate with the MSK Resiliency Manager to conduct business continuity desk checks and residency exercises for Hospital, ambulatory, research and business sites.
    • Coordinate with fire and life safety staff to conduct evacuation drills and train staff in the use of evaluation equipment.
    • Coordinate/Collaborate with organizational stakeholders to develop, maintain, and review at least annually, the training program goals of emergency management.
    • Collaborate and assist with priority projects, and be willing to take on other duties as assigned.

    You have:

    • A Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Emergency Management or Public Safety or Homeland Security.
    • At least 3 years of experience in developing and implementing training and exercise programs in emergency management services, combined with strong and effective communication, project management, facilitation, team building, collaborative planning and engagement skills, and EOC operational and leadership experience.
    • Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional preferred.
    • FEMA Master Exercise Practitioner preferred.
    • Completion of relevant emergency management courses such as the DHS/FEMA Professional Development Series, Emergency Management Institute Independent Study Series or equivalent required.
    • Experience in exercise development and evaluation structured programs such as the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program required.
    • Business Continuity Certification from a recognized certification or accredited agency preferred.
    • Completion of ICS or ICS HC 100, 200, Continuity of Operations and Business Continuity planning courses required.

    Please note -


    For this position you will based primarily in Manhattan, but there may be some occasional travel needed to our regional sites in New Jersey, Long Island, and Westchester, NY.
