    Job Description

     

    Are you looking to join a nursing team who provides the highest quality care to patients? Do you thrive in a dynamic & challenging environment?

     

    If so, the Urgent Care Center is looking for an exceptional clinical nurse with strong critical thinking skills to join our team. The UCC unit provides emergent and comprehensive patient-centered care to MSKCC’S patients, families and staff 24 hours, 7 days a week. Patients are triaged/evaluated, and a decision is made to fast track, admit, discharge or place a patient in observation status in the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU).

    You Are:

    • An experienced clinical nurse with experience in Critical Care or Med/Surg.
    • A good decision-maker, with proven success at making timely decisions that maintain high standards of nursing care within the organization.
    • Actively seeking new ways to grow.
    • Approachable – someone who is comfortable with diverse groups of people. Someone who goes above and beyond for their patients.
    • Willing to take action and eager to accept new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.

    You Will:

    • Implement the nursing process for medical and surgical patients requiring intensive monitoring and nursing interventions in our Urgent Care Center.
    • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to facilitate continuity of care.
    • Provide exceptional patient centered care to our patients and unregistered patients.
    • Deliver care to employees who are injured on the premises.

    You Need:

    • Current NYS RN license/registration
    • Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN)
    • A minimum of 1.5 years of clinical medical/surgical experience required.
    • Critical care and/or medical oncology experience highly preferred
    • May consider New Grad RNs with a preceptorship or externship in a critical care area.

    Hours: 7:30pm to 8:00am with weekend rotation
