    Job Description

    The Communications Department is seeking an experienced Search Strategy & Analysis Manager.

    This position is suited for a self-starter with knowledge of technical SEO, experience with content optimization, and the ability to evaluate new and emerging technologies to position MSK as a digital leader. You will optimize MSKCC.org and SloanKettering.edu -- digital destinations for current and prospective patients and caregivers, research scientists, graduate students, healthcare professionals, and health-aware individuals.

    As the Search Strategy & Analysis Manager, you will:

    • Alongside the Search Strategy and Partnerships Senior Manager, develop a holistic search strategy that will maximize organic traffic, strengthen the MSK brand, and improve domain authority to establish MSK as a trusted digital destination for cancer and health information. Ensure that the strategy is consistent with MSK brand, aligns with institutional goals, and follows proper search techniques.
    • Oversee the implementation of the search strategic plan. Make recommendations for action based on potential impact to MSK’s visibility in search. Set clear goals, responsibilities, and timelines and ensuring that all parties understand their involvement.
    • Coordinate with other teams, including but not limited to, Technical/Development, Editorial, Marketing and Social Media to implement the search strategic plan.
    • Leverage relationships and apply knowledge of the SEO industry and best practices to identify new opportunities, techniques, and technologies that can improve organic search appearance and brand authority to provide MSK with a competitive edge.
    • Measure, report and monitor organic search analytics over time. Use data to inform the search strategy and to solve search-related business, brand, marketing, and technology problems.
    • Use SEO tools to monitor website activity, traffic and search ranking position.
    • Review keyword rankings and search volume to track changes and look for areas to improve.

    You are:

    • An effective communicator and able to work with diverse audiences including digital agencies, web developers, technical analysts, writers, clinicians, senior leadership and others.
    • Able and interested in developing a strong technical understanding of SEO.
    • Self-directed, highly organized, and possess exceptional time management skills.
    • Able to analyze and distill complex information independently and develop thorough project plans.
    • Equally comfortable thinking broadly and delving into nuanced details

    You have:

    • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
    • 4-7 years of experience in the digital strategy field is preferred.
    • A proven track record of successfully implementing SEO tactics on large content websites, preferably in the healthcare space.
    • Working knowledge of SEO/web analytics software and tools
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Exceptional leadership, organization, and communication skills.
    • Excellent written, visual, and oral communication skills.
