    Job Description

    Reporting directly to the Senior Vice-President, Hospital Administration, the Director, Case Management will plan, direct and lead all activities of our program, including supervision of staff, evaluation and maintenance of case management skills, and management of all policies and procedures.

     

    We Are:

     

    Case Management is comprised of three subspecialty programs: Inpatient, Outpatient and Inpatient Denial and Appeals. We use an interdisciplinary collaborative approach to fulfill responsibilities that include utilization, concurrent review, discharge planning, coordination of care, patient education, referrals and leading the complexities of insurance coverage and non-coverage.

    You Will:

     

    •Direct and implement the functions and activities of the Department, including staff management.
    •Lead a team of 4 direct and 65 indirect reports
    •Review workflow and policies to most effectively meet departmental and institutional goals.
    •Demonstrate ability to influence organizational policy development.
    •Build an environment focused on meeting the needs of patients and families in the safest and most cost-effective manner
    •Cultivate a good sense of team within the case management staff, as well as the rest of the hospital
    •Oversee the collection and analysis of data that serves as the basis for evaluation of MSK case management practices.
    •Assure provision of timely payer contact reviews to insurers for payment authorization.
    •Provide oversight of insurance appeal program
    •Develop and manage departmental budget

     

    You Need:

     

    •Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree is a plus
    •Certification in Case Management (CCM) is strongly preferred
    •5-10 years clinical experience with 3-5 years experience in staff supervision and program management.
    •Previous home care, managed care, or UM/CM experience
