    Job Description

Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) has an interesting new opportunity for a Licensing Manager in the Office of Technology Development (OTD). At MSK, extraordinary teams of scientists and clinicians work together on groundbreaking research which can lead to new cancer diagnostic and therapeutic inventions. The OTD’s mission is to ensure that these inventions have the greatest chance of being developed and commercialized - so that these inventions both benefit patients and return the most value to MSK.

As the Licensing Manager you will play a crucial role in fulfiling the mission by:
Working with our scientists and physicians to identify and evaluate inventions, and shepherds these inventions through the patenting process along with counsel.
Collaborating with MSK faculty and OTD staff to create a plan for development of the technology, monitors progress against this plan, and then markets to and negotiates with potential licensees – prominent pharmaceutical, biotechnology and diagnostic companies.
Work with investors (along with others in OTD) to start new companies based on MSK technology. Revenue from these deals is an important contributor to MSK's research budget.

    You are:

Knowledgeable about business and the marketplace and able to apply this knowledge to advance the organization's goals.
A cultivator of innovation who creates and fosters new ways for the organization to be successful.
Capable of building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
Action-oriented and eager to embrace new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm
Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances.
Resilient in recovering from setbacks and skilled at finding detours around obstacles.
Able to operate effectively, even when things are not clear or the way forward is not obvious.
Adept at learning quickly, applying insights from past efforts to new situations.

    You have:

A Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Sciences or similar
    A Master's Degree is preferred
You have 2-4 years experience working for a Pharma or Biotech company
