    The mission of the Division of Pharmacy Services parallels the ultimate purpose of the health center: "Leadership in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of cancer and associated diseases through excellence, vision and cost-effectiveness in patient care, outreach programs, research and education".  As a support service of the hospital, our primary existence and function are based on a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care in all phases of development (geriatric, adult and pediatric), with dedication and concern.  The professional staff as well as the technical/support staff performs with the highest regard for the patients they serve by constantly considering cost-containment once therapeutic effectiveness and safety is established.

    The Pharmacy Department at MSK utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, where the emphasis is on therapeutic efficacy and safety. We provide comprehensive, clinical and dispensing services in both inpatient and ambulatory care settings through a decentralized satellite pharmacy services model.


    We have an exciting opportunity for a confident, independent individual to join the Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant team as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist.


    You will:

    • Serve as a fully integrated member of the Pediatric BMT Service to provide advanced clinical pharmacy services
    • Oversee the normal range of clinical activities for the division of pharmacy
    • Provide therapeutic drug information for the medical, nursing and the pharmacy staff on an ongoing basis
    • Perform drug therapy design and monitoring
    • Provide patient medication counseling and participate in Collaborative Drug Therapy Management (CDTM)
    • Work with the committee for participation and development of treatment guidelines and pharmacy policies
    • Support preceptorship of PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy residents and pharmacy students
    • Complete projects and/or activities which meets departmental criteria to maintain and advance professional competency based on departmental guidelines.
    • Educate hospital staff through Grand Rounds presentations and in-service training
    • You Are:

    • Effective at gaining the support and dedication of others by engaging them around your point of view and priorities
    • Flexible in your approach and demeanor in order to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstances
    • You Have:
    • A PharmD or equivalent and a NYS pharmacist license (or eligibility to apply)
    • Completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency and a PGY2 residency specializing in Oncology or Pediatrics
    • Hours:
    • Normal hours of work fall between Monday and Friday, 37.5 hours per week
    • Flexibility may be required depending upon the needs of the department
