    Job Description

    The Patient Accounts Department is seeking a Claims Specialist to ensure all transmitted claims are compliant and received by insurance carriers timely for prompt reimbursement. 

    You Will: 

    • Review all hospital claims billed to determine if claims were submitted with accurate demographic and charge information
    • Enter data necessary for billing in to the Patient Accounts system
    • Work assigned billing software filter by reviewing each claim and taking appropriate procedural actions as defined by PA Compliance and Operations Management
    • Prepare and mail manual bills
    • Documents procedural work flow according to departmental guidelines and analyze and reconcile refund requests and first level claim rejections from insurance carriers


    You Are: 

    • Highly adaptable and comfortable in an environment where change is common and happens often
    • Analytical and able to problem solve; you can decipher information quickly and are observant of small details
    • Able to manage several tasks and priorities simultaneously

    You Have: 

    • At least 1-2 years of clerical experience
    • Associate's Degree is preferred
