    Job Description

The Powell lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a Research Technician/ Senior Research Technician to join our team. The work involves tissue culture, cloning, CRISPR-based genome editing, immunofluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and other cell-based assays. This position is not solely a laboratory support position and will emphasize research activities and research skills development.

    You will:

    • Grow and maintain cells in tissue culture, plasmid cloning, CRISPR-based genome editing, immunofluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, other cell-based assays.
    • Depending on research activity, may use or operate equipment and instruments such as microscopes, spectrophotometers, centrifuges, pH meters and other standard laboratory equipment.
    • Preparing and maintaining commonly used lab reagents.
    • Ordering and organizing laboratory supplies.
    • Handling Biological and Chemical hazards.
