Job Description

The Systems Development Department (SDD) is seeking a talented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is excited about expanding, managing, and driving MSK’s Enterprise Imaging strategy. Our ideal candidate enjoys leading enterprise imaging projects and managing a small team supporting 3 IBM imaging systems: an IBM FileNet P8 Document Management system, a legacy IBM FileNet Image Services Document Management system, and a new IBM iConnect Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) system.


As the Enterprise Imaging Manager, you will:

  • Provide project leadership and management for Enterprise Imaging projects, support the IBM FileNet Image Services, P8, and iConnect VNA systems, maintain the integrity and security of the current systems, and actively support institution-wide projects requiring image processing
  • Manage, supervise, plan, and direct activities of the Enterprise Image Management team to successfully implement required projects within the expected timeframes and budget constraints
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Advisory Group, Health Informatics team, clinical departments, end users, MSK Executives, and other interested stakeholders to understand their business requirements, prioritize projects, and optimally leverage the VNA and P8 systems to fulfill their objectives
  • Lead the project team, Data Center and external vendors to plan, organize, design, integrate, and implement new hardware/software systems and/or enhancements to the current Enterprise Imaging systems
  • Oversee and manage vendor’s efforts to perform large scale migrations of Radiology and Cardiology studies to the VNA system
  • Manage internal large scale migrations of Electronic Medical Record and Administrative documents from the legacy IBM FileNet Image Services system to the P8 system
  • Drive efforts to expand the utilization of the new VNA system across various ‘ologies and enable imaging sharing with external institutions and Health Information Exchanges
  • Manage system recovery efforts and plan Disaster Recovery testing for your Enterprise Imaging systems

You need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree preferred in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • 7-10 years of experience
  • At least 5 years of experience with supervising staff and managing a VNA, PACS, or another enterprise imaging system
  • Experience working in a complex multi-department healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of or experience with DICOM, HL7, XDS, XDS-I or other imaging technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Expertise with planning concurrent projects, and experience using Microsoft Project and other team planning and online collaboration tools
  • Experience with capital/operational budgeting and contract negotiations


Hours: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday-Friday
