Job Description

Pharmacokinetics Technician Float  (NY/NJ Floating Ambulatory Outpatient position)

Hours: Fulltime Four days x 10-hour shifts flexed between the hours of 8 am - 7 pm.


You will: 


  • Participates in Phase I Pharmacokinetic studies under RN supervision and in   collaboration with the Research Study Assistant.
  • Performs and facilitates the collection of Pharmacokinetic Studies including the set-up, PK processing and PK data management.
  • Obtains and documents vital signs, performs EKGs, and monitors quality assurance of PK in storage or transit.
  • Ensures accuracy and compliance of collecting and processing PK samples, protocol source data and its updates in the unit.
  • Monitors patient’s subsequent PK appointments to assure continuity of care.
  • Checks emergency cart equipment, defibrillator, suction machine, and pulse oximeter daily and assist RN in performing weekly cart inventory and lock change.
  • Facilitates accrual of appropriate patients to clinical trials.
  • Provide coverage to Ambulatory Outpatient sites: Westchester, Bergen, Monmouth and Basking Ridge. 


You need: 


  • High School diploma and 1-2 years of technical education (LPN program, medical technician or nursing assistant program)
  • High School diploma and 1-2 years of technical education (LPN program, medical technician or nursing assistant program)
  • College degree preferred
  • Phlebotomy certification with minimum of one year experience performing phlebotomy
  • 2 years of strong job-related experience
  • Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication, professionalism, and computer skills are essential in this important role.
