At Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK), we’re not only changing the way we treat cancer, but also the way the world thinks about it. By working together and pushing forward with innovation and discovery, we’re driving excellence and improving outcomes.
For the 28th year, MSK has been named a top hospital for cancer by U.S. News & World Report. We are proud to be on Becker’s Healthcare list as one of the 150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare in 2018, as well as one of Glassdoor’s Employees’ Choice Best Place to Work for 2018. We’re treating cancer, one patient at a time. Join us and make a difference every day.
As one of the world's premier oncology centers, MSK is committed to exceptional patient care, leading-edge research, and superb educational programs. The close collaboration between our physicians and scientists is one of our unique strengths, enabling us to provide patients with the best care available today as we work to discover more effective strategies to prevent, control, and ultimately cure cancer. Our education programs train future physicians and scientists, and the knowledge and experience they gain at MSK has an impact on cancer treatment and the biomedical research community around the world.
The MSK Library is a continuously evolving facility and virtual library supporting physicians, researchers, nurses, health care professionals, students, and our patient community. Only those candidates who are tech savvy and embrace a challenging environment need apply.
Applicants will have an opportunity to support our Clinical Medical Librarian (CML) program and be assigned to work with the MSK’s Evidence-based Cancer Imaging Program (ECIP). As a member of this program, the research informationist will function as a project manager and liaison to co-ordinate the specific workflow responsibilities of all the information professionals involved in the program. ECIP requires an evidentiary review methodology to support the creation, modification, or endorsement of Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) for the ordering of advanced diagnostic imaging exams.
In addition, the reference function is a key service role in the modern library and has a direct impact on the quality of patient care. The person in this role is the primary face to our clients and as an information specialist, provides consultation services; answers research and information questions, provides customized teaching and guidance on our resources and related software programs, and performs subject-focused searches as required.
