Job Description

Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) – Neuro Advanced Care Unit (NACU)


The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will collaborate with designated physicians and other healthcare team members to provide care to an assigned caseload of patients with neurological/surgical issues as part of the Neurology and Neurosurgery Service inpatient team.

Qualifications needed for a PA candidate are:

  • Graduate from an accredited PA program
  • NCCPA certification
  • Active NYS license or be qualified for state licensure
  • A minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a PA in Neurology or Neurosurgery or Critical Care experience preferred
  • ACLS/BLS certification

Qualifications needed for an NP candidate are:

  • Current New York State (NYS) RN and NP licenses/registrations
  • Master’s degree in nursing, prescriptive privileges (or eligibility)
  • 3+ years of related clinical experience
  • Recent Neurology or Neurosurgery or Critical Care experience preferred
  • Related National NP certification
  • ACLS/BLS certification



HOURS: 12 hour nights (6p-6:30a) including weekend and holiday rotation.
