Job Description

We are:

 

The Division of Quality and Safety’s mission is to monitor the quality and safety of our patient care and is a central focus at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. We do not stand on the status quo but hold ourselves accountable and strive toward optimizing care on a continuous basis. Our goal is to help with the design and optimization of clinical processes, from operational efficiency to patient safety.  Every clinical department within Memorial Sloan Kettering has a Quality Assessment Committee charged with developing and implementing a continuous monitoring system to evaluate patient care, treatment, and safety.

 

You are:

  • Interested in the Quality and Safety of Care initiatives at MSK.
  • Devoted to creating and implementing solutions that increase the patient's satisfaction and experience.
  • Enjoys building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.

 

You will:

  • Build and maintain close collaborative relationship with the Regional Network in New Jersey (MSK Basking Ridge, MSK Montvale, & MSK Monmouth) in and Division of Quality and Safety (DQS) to assure timely and efficient review and follow up on patient safety and quality events reported through RISQ or other channels.
  • Facilitate required RISQ events’ follow up with clinical and operational staff at the Regional Network for QA reviews and participate in Root Cause Analyses for identified incidents.
  • Participate in institution-wide projects and initiatives in close collaboration with MSK clinical and operational staff and DQS project engineers.  
  • Lead and facilitate Quality and Safety program in the Regional Network in close collaboration with clinical and operational teams. Majority of work time will be spent in the Regional Network sites.
  • Promote and facilitate submissions to the annual Quality and Safety Performance Improvement Fair from the Regional Networks

 

You need:

  • BSN required; Master’s degree in a Healthcare Profession or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience at MSKCC or a comparable institution OR progressively responsible clinical experience at MSKCC or a comparable institution.
  • Knowledge of hospital systems and medical terminology, excellent communication skills with all levels of staff, strong writing skills.
  • Self direction and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

*NY/NJ licensed RN preferred.
