Job Description

MSK is seeking an Application Specialist to support the installation, analysis, design, development, testing, documentation and implementation of reporting solutions for the Reporting and Analytics department.   This individual will work with senior managers to understand and analyze requirements and develop solutions using Business Intelligence and SQL Server tools and underlying technologies.

 

You Will:

  • Work with business users to understand their business processes; gather and document requirements; translate requirements into functional specifications for dashboards and reports
  • Design and optimization of dimensional data models to support reporting infrastructure
  • Identify project risks and impediments; notify management; proactively work with other members of the team to complete assigned tasks as defined by project scope and timelines
  • Assist in the development of data governance processes which entails documentation and implementation of data quality policies, procedures and standards to ensure a high level of data integrity
  • Create ad-hoc queries and reports
  • Develop test plans to assure the functionality and integrity of reporting solutions
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to identify system deficiencies, analyze problems and solutions to conclude and implement corrective action.
  • Configuration and upgrades of software and servers

You Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Health Administration or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years experience developing reporting solutions against relational and dimensional underlying data in a multi-platform environment
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and deep knowledge of relational database design principles
  • Experience with data visualization and analysis tools (Tableau, Splunk)
  • 3+ years experience with relational database management systems and ETL processes
  • 3+ years experience with Microsoft SQL Servers
  • 2-4 years in the healthcare industry
  • Data governance experience a plus
  • Tableau experience a plus
  • Experience with DB2 a plus
