    Job Description

    Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Patient Billing department is seeking a Patient Billing Specialist to function as the main representative, through phone inquiries, of the department to our patient population.  This individual will use detailed knowledge of billing procedures and policies for all Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center sites to proactively contact patients to communicate, via phone inquiry, MSK’s billing practices and procedures, including payment requirements and insurance processing procedures.


    You are:

    • Thorough, detail-oriented, highly organized and able to perform with a high level of accuracy under pressure
    • Able to communicate in a professional, persuasive and diplomatic manner; ability to calm and satisfy upset and/or confused patients and/or their family members over the telephone
    • Knowledgeable of third party claims processing and reimbursement 
    • A person who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and taking on Process Improvement projects

    You need:

    • A high school diploma, bachelors degree preferred
    • At least a year of relevant healthcare experience is required
    • Excellent communication skills and a focus on patient service
