    Job Description

    We are:

    The Cellular Immunology Laboratory performs a series of assays on various cellular components of the immune system. The assays consist of lymphocyte proliferation by mitogens and antigens, natural killer cell activity, immunophenotyping of lymphocytes, monocytes, granulocytes, bone marrow, peripheral blood progenitor/stem cells, cord blood and leukapheresis products. These studies are relevant in the diagnosis of immunodeficiency disorders and in monitoring the effect of therapy on several groups of patients, including those receiving bone marrow transplants or biologic response modifiers.

    The Cellular Immunology Laboratory is seeking a Laboratory Technologist experienced in flow cytometry to perform and maintain competency in the technical and related work of the Cellular Immunology Laboratory. Testing includes lymphocyte proliferation assay, natural killer cell assay, and flow cytometric immunophenotyping.

    You will:

    • Review requisitions and order entry orders, verify accuracy of corresponding specimens, and enter required data into computer.
    • Perform technical duties in all laboratory sections, with minimal supervision, as assigned.
    • Maintain complete, accurate, legible, neat, organized, up-to-date records/logs/files.
    • Prepare results for analysis and enter test results into the computer, with minimal supervision.
    • Create neat, accurate, well-formatted documents.
    • Contribute to upkeep and safety of the laboratory and assure a clean, safe, adequately supplied work area.
    • Assure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory’s Quality Control Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Perform routine equipment maintenance. 

    You have:

    • A Bachelors degree
    • 2+ years experience in flow cytometry highly preferred. Candidates with a keen interest in cellular immunology and an eagerness to learn will be considered for a Technologist I role.
    • A current New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
    • A strong drive to constantly learn and to develop your skills within a highly dynamic setting.


    • 37.5 hours per week
    • Monday through Friday with weekend and holiday rotation 
    • Hours will fall between 8am and 8pm#LI-GS1
