Job Description

Surgical Support Assistant at Josie Robertson Surgery Center

You Will:

  • Following hospital approved procedures, performs turnover cleaning of the operating room. 
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other team members or departments to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of patient care this includes Nurses, Surgical technicians, CPD, Bio-med technicians, and inventory clerks. 
  • prepare OR rooms for surgical cases, transports specimens and blood to the appropriate laboratory, and escort or transport patients in a safe manner utilizing the appropriate equipment when necessary. 
  • assist nursing staff in specific direct patient care activities, performs inventory and set-up of reusable/disposable sterile supplies and equipment, in collaboration with the surgical team
  • Assists patient and family prior to surgery as directed
  • Transport patients to the operating room
  • Assist patients in the performance of personal care, i.e. toileting, intake/output
  • Work various shifts from 6:00AM -8:00PM Rotating Monday - Friday

You Have:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 2-4 years in healthcare setting (Certified Nursing Assistant, Perioperative Assistant or Central processing)
