Job Description

The Supervisor, Patient Financial Services (PFS) oversees operational activities within the Patient Financial Services Division.  The Supervisor works collaboratively with senior level PFS Management along with other MSK Clinical and Administrative departments to identify and resolve issues and implement solutions.  The Supervisor is responsible for addressing staffing needs, and analyzing workflows and systems to ensure the maximum hospital reimbursement and the highest quality of patient service.

 

 

You Will

  • Oversee area operations, and evaluate workflows and use of resources to ensure the completion of work within departmental timeframe
  • Supervise activities of staff in assigned area/unit
  • Interview and provide input on hiring decisions
  • Train, and consistently reviews staff members’ performance and evaluates against position’s job-related and competency standards
  • Provide feedback on performance as well as opportunities for development on an ongoing basis
  • Review policies and procedures on an ongoing basis to ensure maximum efficiency and compliance with regulatory and non-regulatory payers’ requirements
  • Reviews and reports on information and data about productivity and other performance measures for the unit and individual employees
  • Communicate and ensure compliance with quality standards and improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and consistently improve on management skills
  • Work on special projects as assigned by PFS management

You Have

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required
  • At least 2-4 years of experience in prior supervision and/or work in hospital patient revenue departments or directly with clinical teams
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word 
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel
