At Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK), we’re not only changing the way we treat cancer, but also the way the world thinks about it. By working together and pushing forward with innovation and discovery, we’re driving excellence and improving outcomes.
For the 27th year, MSK has been named a top hospital for cancer by U.S. News & World Report. We are proud to be on Becker’s Healthcare list as one of the 150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare in 2016, as well as Glassdoor’s annual Employees’ Choice Awards 2017. We’re treating cancer, one patient at a time. Join us and make a difference every day.
The Immunogenomics and Precision Oncology Platform (IPOP) is a newly established program at MSK. IPOP is dedicated to developing precision immunotherapy at MSK. The program's goal is to use state-of-the-art approaches to unravel the molecular determinants of response to immunotherapy and to optimize immunotherapeutics such as immune checkpoint inhibitors and neoantigen-based vaccines using large scale analyses.
We are looking for a person to fill a position as a Software Engineer to help develop web-based portals that allow the broader medical community access to the data being generated at IPOP. The position will involve coordinating with other bioinformatics engineers and software developers at IPOP as well as working with developers at the center of molecular oncology to help broaden the scope of existing portals at MKSCC (http://cbioportal.org) to include features relevant to immunotherapy. This will require the development of novel visualizations for immunotherapy related data, especially data related to T-cell sequencing. The successful candidate will have a strong programming background and analytic skills as well as be comfortable communicating with other developers, scientists, and physicians. In addition to software development, there will also be opportunities to work on scientific projects ongoing in IPOP.
The successful candidate will ultimately develop analytic tools and a web-based portal for cancer immunotherapy, one of the most promising areas in cancer research.
He/She will work with other developers, bioinformaticians, and experimental biologists in
a dynamic and exciting academic environment at the nexus of cancer biology, computer
science, statistics and clinical research.
