Job Description

The Department Of Radiation Oncology is seeking a Patient Service Representative to ensure that each physician practice is well prepared, well organized and fully utilized. 

You Are:

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment 
  • A strong communicator in both oral and written communications
  • Someone with attention to detail and the ability to identify and implement process improvements
  • A team player


You will:

  • Check patients in upon their arrival to the clinic, and prepare them for their visit.
  • Ability to handle acutely ill patient in stressful situations, and Make sure each patient visit occurs with satisfaction.
  • Service as a liaison between the patient, family and clinical team during the office visit.
  • Reviews clinical plan by evaluating the disposition order form for clarity, content, and completeness. Obtain clarification from clinician if order sheet is unclear or incomplete.
  • Complete all pending work generated from clinic day within 24 hours
  • Participate in and promote the prevention, detection, and resolution of instances of noncompliance with departmental and institutional billing policies and procedures.
  • Provides additional support as directed (e.g., calling for transportation and translators, obtaining ice for patients, making photocopies).
  • Informs clinician of pertinent patient information (e.g., delays, early arrivals, departure needs, new medical information)
  • Maintains a neat, clean, and organized work area (e.g., keeps telephones and computer hardware free of spills, places personal effects to   not disturb workflow) throughout the day
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule between 6:30AM-9:00PM


You Have:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
