Job Description

The Payroll Department is seeking an Attendance Capture Associate to join their team. 


Under general direction, the Associate will:


  • Manage and maintain software products used at MSK for time and attendance capture, including; Workday Time; MSK Intranet Timekeeping System; and the interface with Vastech (Nurse Administration).
  • Participate in testing API Healthcare Time and Attendance and Scheduling systems; and upgrades/enhancements to existing systems.
  • Analyze time capture and Workday Time for functionality issues, including solutions that require changes to business processes and training. Review new releases, fixes, and updates to determine applicability. 
  • Review and analyze user requests for new functionality/enhancements.
  • Analyze requests for user access to time capture systems to ensure the most appropriate level of security is maintained.
  • Serve as a liaison between Payroll staff, Information Systems staff and end-users of the systems.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for payroll time and attendance by sharing knowledge with the project team so that it is integrated into the larger project.
  • Administer training and security for all MSKCC managers, supervisors and timekeepers for payroll time and attendance systems.
  • Assist the Functional/Technical Analyst in analyzing, developing specifications and testing any production Payroll system change. 
  • Develops and writes system training manuals for end users, procedures for the payroll department and functional specifications for system changes/modifications for Information Systems. 
  • Support the payroll production team wherever needed to ensure a clean, accurate and complete bi-weekly payroll.

The Associate has:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree AND 2-4 years experience with data collection.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with Timekeeping systems, preferable Workday and/or API
  • Strong knowledge of Attendance Capture functions, and compliance with federal and state laws and regulations regarding Attendance Capture and records retention preferred.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
  • The Ability to create complex queries.
  • Excellent business writing and presentation skills.
  • Practical knowledge of various Human Resource functions (e.g., Compensation, Employment, Benefits)
