Job Description

We are seeking an Administrative Manager for the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences who will be responsible for administrative, clinical support, education/training activities, information management and program development activities. The Administrative Manager will report to and collaborate with the Department Administrator. 


You will:

  • Have pivotal responsibility for overseeing operations, ensuring the highest quality of patient care and patient-centric care. 
  • Facilitate assurance of the highest quality of training and educational activities and clinical research while maintaining cost effectiveness through strategic resource allocation and ensuring efficient and responsive flow of patients, and information management.
  • Ensure collaboration with Departmental and Institutional senior leadership to influence and execute strategic direction based on analysis of current operations, anticipated needs, and supports innovative approaches to the delivery of care and the conduct of research, as well as education and training programs and initiatives. 
  • Oversee the facilities issues across three sites (Counseling Center, 485 Lex and BAIC space).
  • Act as the primary backup for the Department Administrator in her/his absence.


You need:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of supervisory experience, preferably in an academic medical setting required.  Project experience required.
  • Master’s degree preferred (MHA, MBA, MSN, MPA, etc.)
  • Operations experience preferred.
  • Fellowship program and financial experience is preferred.
  • Analytical skills required include the ability to analyze and manipulate financial and statistical data.
  • Presentation skills include sharing and participating in meetings.
  • Written skills required include the ability to compose and edit a variety of documents.
  • Must be able to interface with management staff, handle confidential information, work under pressure, prioritize and make independent decisions.
  • The position requires a mature minded, detail-oriented team player with good business judgment.
