Job Description

The Data Analyst supports the Development Technology and Operations department, which provides the technical and structure and backing for MSK’s fundraising efforts.


As the Data Analyst, you will:


  • Conduct Data Integrity projects within BBCRM, which is the fundraising database of record for MSK, and other applications serving MSK development to update donor information, manage duplicate records, and resolve database inconsistencies.
  • Analyze and interpret multiple entry points for data collection to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Frequently interact with the Development fundraising and operations staff to flag data hygiene issues and process issues.
  • Support and answer user questions, provide application support, and reach out to users regarding data hygiene issues.
  • Run established and scheduled processes such as new record acquisition that are critical to the functioning of BBCRM, as well as other applications serving MSK Development and overall business operations.
  • Assist in identifying the areas of greatest need, developing project plans, and seeing them through to completion.
  • Seek a quick and thorough resolution to any issues that may arise, and ensure that business is not interrupted.
  • Be versed in all business rules and the individual processes and workflows across Development, and offer suggestions for improvement.
  • Assist with the development of process documentation, provide backup to training staff, and contribute to team projects, as needed.
  • Validate data and test system functionality during database upgrades.
  • Evaluate how changes to functionality may impact user experience, data integrity, business rules, and system workflows, and provide feedback to management, during testing.


You Have: 


  • A Bachelor's Degree at least 1 year of related experience.
  • Proficient with Excel, large data sets, and technical processes.
  • Highly data literate; able to identify inconsistencies within a database, determine the root cause, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Strong interpersonal verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, professional, technical, and administrative staff.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • SQL skills are preferred but not required.
