Job Description

We are:
 The clinical neurophysiology faculty at MSK are board-certified neurologists, all of whom have done clinical neurophysiology fellowships with emphasis on electroencephalography (EEG). All of the faculty interpret routine, inpatient video-EEG, and ambulatory EEG studies. We are a major teaching site of the Cornell clinical neurophysiology program and have trained fellows for over a decade. In addition, we have experience in training new EEG technicians.

 

Job Summary:

Under the administrative direction of Administrative Manager (AM) and the Medical Direction of the Vice Chair for the Neurology service and the clinical supervision of  the Interpreting Neurologist, performs all varieties of electro neurophysiology monitoring while applying his/her technical skill independently. 


The EEG Supervisor is responsible for providing technical supervision of neurodiagnostic testing and monitoring. The EEG Supervisor is responsible for personnel management of EEG techs, quality assessment and assurance to ensure quality and accuracy of interpretation of EEG performed  and program advancement. Neurodiagnostic services can include and are not limited to: electroencephalography (EEG).

You will:

  • Responsible for the efficient delivery of EEG services to inpatients and ambulatory patients.
  • Establishes policies and procedures according to established standards of practice.
  • Responsible for all aspects  interviewing, training, staffing and scheduling of EEG technologists to ensure appropriate staffing to meet program needs.
  • Management of EEG Technologists.
  • Ensures technical proficiency of EEG Technologists.
  • Ensures accuracy of information entered in medical record and other information systems.
  • Follows all applicable departmental and institutional policies and procedures related to billing. Participates in and promotes the prevention, detection, and resolution of instances of noncompliance with departmental and institutional billing policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the functionality of EEG equipment and par levels of supplies.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies and capital equipment for therapeutic procedures provided.
  • Provides direction to the EEG Technologists for the prioritization of EEGs to ensure patient safety.
  • Ensures the delivery of safe patient care and maintains a clean, operational and safe environment.


You need:

  • A minimum of a High School diploma or GED plus graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited is required. A Bachelor’s degree in health care or related field is preferred.
  • Graduation from a Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Program accredited college or university institution preferred.
  • A minimum of  5 years experience in performing neurodiagnostic procedures.
  • Communication Management skills to communicate, explain, interpret, share and present information to employees, peers and superiors at MSKCC and appropriate external contacts.
  • Equipment operation skills required include functional knowledge of all diagnostic equipment.


LICENSE/CERTIFICATE:

  • Required: R. EEG T.* Current BLS certification.
  • Preferred: R. EP T.*, CLTM*, CNIM*, R.NCS.T.**, RPSG T***, and DABNM****.  by NYS.


Hours:  

7:00am - 3:00pm Monday - Friday with occasional flex schedule between 7am and 9pm and occasional weekends as needed.
